Liposuction

What is Liposuction?

There is a fixed amount of fat cells in the adult human body. After puberty, the number of fat cells in the body does not increase, but weight gain occurs as a result of the increase in their volume.

Regular life, diet and exercise are extremely important for a healthy life and an ideal body proportion. Even in people who pay attention to these criteria, fat accumulations can be seen in the hip, abdomen, waist, and thigh regions. Excessive exercise and diets for improvement in these areas can result in metabolic problems.

Liposuction is a surgical operation in which unwanted fat from various parts of the body is removed with injectors or vacuum technique. It is not intended for weight loss, but should be applied for the purpose of regional proportioning and shaping of the body.

Who Should Have Liposuction?

Liposuction is not a weight loss surgery.

It is ideal for you if you cannot get rid of stubborn regional fat deposits even though you are on a healthy diet and exercising.

Who Should Not Have Liposuction?

Liposuction is not applied in patients with metabolic diseases, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes (diabetes) and patients who are not suitable for anesthesia without removing the disease. In addition, patients who smoke excessively should stop smoking before the operation as they may react to anesthesia. It is also not applied to pregnant or newly delivered patients.

How is Liposuction Surgery Performed?

Liposuction surgery takes about 1-5 hours depending on the area and adipose tissue. A liquid special liquid solution is injected into the oily area. Afterwards, incisions of a few mm width are made in and around the area. 2-6 mm diameter cannulas (metal pipes) connected to the vacuum device are inserted under the skin and fat is extracted.
The area is shaped by considering a smooth skin surface and proportioning to the body.

After liposuction

After liposuction, the patient should wear special corsets for 4-8 weeks, depending on the amount of fat removed or the area. Edema and bruising may be seen in the operation area. These disappear over time. After 1-3 weeks, the patient can return to his daily life depending on the recovery status. After 3-4 weeks, the patient becomes able to exercise normally.

Liposculpture and new techniques

With the new techniques developed in recent years, the superficial liposuction (Liposculpture) method, which gives successful results in cellulite and sagging, has begun to be used. The liposculpture method can be made to look natural and smooth in the application area.

In addition, in recent years, ultrasound energy has been started to be used for the breakdown of fat cells before vacuuming.
